NYSEG Award—Who Pays For It?

Upstate Shredding has received an economic development grant totaling $134,000 from the NYS Electric and Gas Company. Upstate Shredding is the largest, privately held scrap metal processor on the East Coast. This privately held company has 19 processing plants in NY, Pa., and Canada.

Adam Weitsman, CEO, of Upstate Shredding was very thankful for the grant. Mr. Weitsman recently built a new $23 million home in the Finger Lakes Region. Italian stone cutters were imported to handle the marble and stone that was used in the home.

NYSEG spokesman Mark Lynch stated that “we are pleased to support Upstate Shredding”.

Where does NYSEG get this money?
