Downtown Garbage

I have lived my whole live in a home near the corner of Court and Carroll Streets in Binghamton. Across the street from me is a building that is rented to students. There is a constant pile of garbage stacked at that site. The garbage overflows the containers. It is an ugly sight to see day after day. I have made frequent calls to the code enforcement office and to the Mayor’s office. This unsightly pile remains. In warmer weather it stinks. Why can’t a life time taxpaying resident get help? Why can’t the landlord provide adequate containers for the garbage?  Is downtown Binghamton no longer a place for the long time residents?      Rena Sardo
