Workers’ Memorial Day

By Rick Sprout                                                                                                                                             On Saturday April 30, union and community members gathered to  remember and honor those who were killed at work in NY State in the past year. Men, women, black, white, Hispanic.  Their ages ranging from as young as 9 years to over 70.  Included in the event were the photographs  of the more than 40 known dead in NY State.  Those in attendance vowed to continue fighting for safer & better workplace conditions for all.

 Among those participating, were members and allies of striking Verizon workers: Communication Workers of America (CWA) & International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)
